Advanced Rides

Rides are offered on Saturdays for the skilled and advanced riders. This is a more advanced mountain biking session for technical riders who are ready to maneuver up and down large rocks, through tight spots in the trails, and can handle the bumps of a rock garden.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

Every Fall TFKO partners with the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association (OMBA) to host a kids ride to celebrate the annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.  The event has been increasing in size and popularity every year which is a testimony to the efforts and success of TFKO.

Trail Building & Maintenance

As an extension of the education program, TFKO takes a group of students and adult volunteers to participate in OMBA’s trail maintenance days as part of their riding program. They are taught trail construction safety. Participation in maintenance programs combined with improved biking skills allows the kids to gain greater responsibilities and advance to more technical trails.

Participation in trail maintenance is intended to instill in the kids a greater sense of responsibility, community involvement and confidence, not only for cycling purposes and sustainability, but for their futures as young adults.

Annual Eastern Ontario High School/Elementary School Mountain Bike Championship

Every year the South Grenville District High School host this OCA (Ontario Cycling Association) sanctioned event for student of the Kingston, Cornwall, Ottawa areas (and everything between).  This Championship provides a challenge for beginners and racers alike with individual and team awards.  TFKO will provide the opportunity for students in the Ottawa area to participate in this event.

Try a Mountain Bike Ride

TFKO offers opportunities to try mountain biking for small groups that incorporate cycling skills, trail etiquette, and leadership opportunities in a fun, supportive and active atmosphere. These rides are focusing solely on children and youths who never had the opportunity to experience mountain biking. Rides can be booked by contacting our Program Director.
