• Trips for Kids Ottawa's mission is to enrich the lives of economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth through outdoor activities that help them to develop physical skills, gain environmental knowledge, form positive relationships and acquire leadership opportunities.

TFKO provides scheduled after-school programs and numerous special one-day or Saturday outings. Please come ready to ride with a signed waiver-2016 and registration and contact information form. You will need to bring: closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothing, water, a sense of adventure, and a smile! TFKO will provide: a Ride Leader, bikes and helmets, if necessary, and water bottles. Please contact us for more information.

After School Programs

After-school bike programs start as soon as the trails are open in the spring and continue until the end of the school year, then resume in September and run through to November.  Kids are grouped based on age and skill level. No prior experience is required. We currently run ride programs at Bell High School, Ecole Secondaire Franco-Ouest, Frederick Banting Secondary Alternate School and the Carembeck Community Centre in Carleton Place.   We also offer snowshoe outings in winter.

Advanced Rides

Occasionally, more advanced mountain biking sessions may be offered for technical riders who are ready to maneuver up and down large rocks or through tight spots in the trails, and can handle the bumps of a rock garden. These are only appropriate for skilled and advanced riders.

Please contact us for more information.

The event has been increasing in size and popularity every year which is a testimony to the efforts and success of TFKO. Information about the next event will be posted on our Facebook page.
