Programs and Events
TFKO provides scheduled after-school programs and numerous special one-day or Saturday outings. Please come ready to ride with a signed Covid waiver 2020and 2021 REGISTRATION and EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION form. You will need to bring: closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothing, water, a sense of adventure, and a smile! TFKO will provide: a Ride Leader, bikes and helmets, if necessary, and water bottles. After School Programs
After-school bike programs start as soon as the trails are open in the spring and continue until the end of the school year, then resume in September and run through to November. Kids are grouped based on age and skill level. No prior experience is required. We currently run ride programs at Bell High School, Ecole Secondaire Franco-Ouest, Frederick Banting Secondary Alternate School and the Carembeck Community Centre in Carleton Place. We also offer snowshoe and skating outings in winter.
“More Girls On Bikes” Initiative
Trips for Kids Ottawa is proud to be involved with the TFK National initiative to increase the number of girls in our programs by 10% this year.
Our first event will be the More Girls on Bikes Kickoff – Wednesday August 11th from 5-8pm. The event will be focused on current female mountain bikers, bringing one young female to try out or get better at mountain biking. The event will begin with a fun bike games, followed by a ride and ending with with evening potluck snacks. The cost for a mountain biker is $20 and includes a t-shirt for you and the youth you bring

Is this for you?
Are you female adult mountain biker who wants more girls on bikes? We would love to have you and your friend/child – she doesn’t have to ride at the same level as you – TFKO will help with that!
My daughter wants to participate but doesn’t have an adult to go with – please reach out to us so we can see if we can pair her with a mountain biking mentor.
If a young participant doesn’t have a bike we can help with that! Reach out to us.
All participants are required to complete a COVID waiver and registration form found above.
